March 30 Is National Doctor’s Day

McLEOD LORIS 21 MARCH 2012

(3/21/12) – On Friday, March 30, McLeod Loris Seacoast along with healthcare organizations across the nation will observe National Doctor’s Day, a time set aside each year to thank physicians for the many contributions they bring to our local communities.

On March 30, 1958, a resolution commemorating Doctor’s Day was adopted by the US House of Representatives, and in 1990 legislation was introduced in the House and Senate to establish a national Doctor’s Day. Following overwhelming approval by the House and Senate, on October 30, 1990, President George Bush signed a resolution designating March 30th as National Doctor’s Day.

McLeod Loris Seacoast will be recognizing its medical staff and its contributions with special events at both McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast. Patients, families and employees are encouraged to send their physicians a personal message by mailing a card to: Marketing, 3655 Mitchell Street, Loris, SC 29569 or emailing a message to: cbondurant@lorishealth.org. Anyone wanting to get a message to a physician can even call 843.716.7527 and that message will be relayed to the physician.

“Our healthcare system has benefited over the years by a very competent and stable medical staff. A key component to our success has been our physicians,” stated James Craigie, MD, vice president of medical affairs. “We are proud of them and the legacy of care they have provided.”
