Foundation Recognizes Employee, Director of the Year for McLeod Loris Seacoast

McLEOD LORIS 4 APRIL 2014

(4/4/2014)  The McLeod Health Foundation, supporting McLeod Loris Seacoast,  annually sponsors the Employee and Volunteer Campaign to raise funds to support the programs and services at all of the McLeod Health hospitals. This year’s campaign raised more than $30,000 to be donated back to our hospitals. Each year awards are given to those employees and directors who have shown leadership and enthusiasm for the employee campaign.

The Foundation announced this week that Lindsay Stroud, Infection Preventionist, has been named 2013 Employee of the Year, while Scott Montgomery, Director of Physical Rehabilitation, was named 2013 Director of the Year. Both recipients were outstanding in their support of the Annual Employee Campaign.

As a participant in the Employee and Volunteer Campaign, employees can choose to contribute at various levels. A Founder’s Gift reflects an annual donation of more than $1,000. Employees who participate at the Gold Club Level designate one hour of their salary each pay period to be contributed to the Foundation, while Silver Club Level participants designate 30 minutes of their salary to the Foundation per pay period. Employees can also choose to make a one-time gift contribution, as well.

"The participation of our employees and volunteers and the amount of money raised demonstrates how much the members of our McLeod Loris Seacoast family believe in and support the mission of the McLeod Foundation," said Kelly Hughes, Director of the McLeod Health Foundation at McLeod Loris Seacoast. "Their generous donations allow the Foundation to continue to grow and be able to fund these and other items that will benefit our patients and their families for years to come."

About McLeod Health Foundation

The McLeod Foundation was established in 1986 as an independent not for profit tax exempt charitable organization whose mission is to generate philanthropic and community support to perpetuate medical excellence at McLeod Health. Thanks to the generosity of this region, the Foundation has raised in excess of $40 million and has provided support for hundreds of programs at McLeod Health. These programs include support for McLeod Loris Seacoast, McLeod Children’s Hospital, The Guest House at McLeod, McLeod Hospice Services, McLeod Cancer Center for Treatment and Research, McLeod Heart and Vascular Institute and McLeod Diabetes Services, just to name a few. Simply put the Foundation funds better health for thousands of families throughout northeastern South Carolina and southeastern North Carolina.

Separately chartered, the McLeod Foundation is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. Gifts to the McLeod Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extend allowed by law and 100% of every gift received goes directly to the area it is designated.

The work done by the McLeod Foundation goes beyond the hospital walls and reaches straight into the heart of the community.
