McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 16 SEPTEMBER 2011

(9/16/11) – The McLeod Medical Center Dillon Radiology Department is pleased to announce that Felecia McDaniel has met the rigorous qualifications for certification by the premier credentialing organization for ultrasound professionals, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography® (ARDMS).

McDaniel has been awarded a credential as a RDMS, with a specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology ultrasound.

Tim McKinley, Director of Radiology at McLeod Medical Center Dillon, says McDaniel’s receipt of this certification is proof of her initiative and skill. "Felecia is recognized as a highly accomplished professional with the highest standards of excellence. ARDMS credentials represent the highest level of competence in the medical-imaging modality of sonography (ultrasound) testing," said McKinley.

To earn the ARDMS credential, McDaniel met the association’s strict prerequisites, including education and career-experience requirements. She also passed two comprehensive examinations: one of the physical principles underlying ultrasound diagnosis and the high-tech instruments used in ultrasound exams, and the other in the corresponding specialty area.

The examinations administered by ARDMS measure the attainment of the knowledge and experience required of those who serve the public’s health by practicing diagnostic medical sonography and/or vascular technology.

McLeod Dillon has the state-of-the-art ACUSON Antares™ ultrasound imaging system from Siemens Medical Solutions that provides physicians and their patients with the highest quality in abdominal, vascular, and obstetrics ultrasound exams.

"McLeod Dillon also offers breast ultrasound imaging, which is commonly used as a diagnostic tool for further evaluation of abnormal mammography findings," said Felecia McDaniel, R.T. (R), RDMS.
