Center for Health & Fitness Offers Exercise Classes Designed To Be Fun and Improve Health & Fitness

McLEOD LORIS 2 AUGUST 2013

(8/2/2013) When exercise is fun, you are more likely to incorporate it into your day and make exercise a part of your permanent routine.  The Center for Health and Fitness wants to get you moving by offering exercise classes designed to be fun while improving your overall health.

For individuals seeking a high energy class, all ages can benefit from the aerobics and toning offered by Zumba.  Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves create a one of a kind workout. The upbeat music inspires and the workout focuses on toning, strengthening and cardio while targeting every major muscle group in the body. Experience one exciting hour of calorie burning, dancing and fun! Classes are held on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.

If you are looking for more traditional exercise, consider one of our Step aerobics classes. Step involves the use of a platform that is four to 12 inches high. The platform is alternatively stepped on and off in order to raise your heart rate and work muscles. You will burn calories and fat while the intense cardiovascular workout makes your heart and lungs work more efficiently. Step also helps to reduce stress and promote restful sleep. Beginner Step classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and Just Step classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 p.m.

There is no additional cost for members of the Center for Health & Fitness.  Members can bring a friend for only $5 or nonmembers can purchase a guest pass for each of the classes for only $8. All classes are held at the Center for Health & Fitness at 3207 Casey Street in Loris.

For anyone interested in becoming a member, a variety of monthly memberships are available, including individual, family, senior and corporate packages.  There is even a popular discounted matinee option for those members who enjoy exercising Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
