An Evening of Hope supporting the HOPE Fund at the McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center. The presenting sponsor for the McLeod Health Foundation’s 26th Annual Cancer Benefit is Harbor Freight Tools Foundation.
A strolling dinner and cocktail hour will begin the evening followed by stories of hope and lively entertainment at 7 p.m. Benefiting the HOPE (Helping Oncology Patients Everyday) Fund, the event is supported by donors and sponsors who have helped thousands of patients with needs such as transportation, medications, nutrition, and unique personal financial struggles requiring immediate assistance since 2014.
Featured Cancer Survivors include Kimberly Brown, Alan Cox, Wardie Sanders, and Lanell Timmons. Guests will be inspired by these courageous survivors who acknowledge that each day is a gift. They, along with others who support the HOPE Fund, recognize how charitable giving provides many of the services that go along with excellent medical care.
In addition, this year’s entertainment will be provided by the Masterworks Choir. Celebrating 47 years of musical excellence, the Masterworks Choir of Florence is one of the most prestigious choral ensembles in the state, known for its choral artistry and performing a historically diverse repertoire of both new and traditional music. Always seeking to expand its reach beyond the Florence community, the Masterworks Choir has performed at Piccolo Spoleto and in Carnegie Hall. In June 2025, the Choir completed a 10-day tour of Scotland, performing in Glasgow, Inverness, Stirling Castle, and Edinburgh.
