An orientation for the first Industrial Maintenance Youth Apprenticeship program was held on Friday, February 9, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Twelve students from Pamplico, Darlington and Florence 1 Schools will work with their McLeod Health mentors to learn skills in the building and construction fields.
This program, a partnership between McLeod, Big Picture Learning and Harbor Freight Fellows, is funded by a grant from Power:Ed fueled by the SC Student Loan Corporation.
“You were nominated and selected to participate in this program and now we are ready to start your journey to see if you and this career are a good fit for each other,” said Matthew Peake, McLeod Health Careers Coordinator, to the students.
