RESIDENCY PROGRAMS

See Your Salary and CME Allowance Climb Annually

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the resident’s salaries are as follows:

  • PGY-1: $63,500 + CME $750 and 5 days
  • PGY-2: $64,800 + CME $1000 and 5 days
  • PGY-3: $66,500 + CME $1250 and 5 days
Rural Housing Incentive Stipend

Residents of the Rural Residency will be eligible for a housing stipend should they secure housing within a thirty (30) mile radius of McLeod Cheraw or McLeod Clarendon, as applicable.

The Rural Housing Incentive Stipend for each program year shall equal:

$10,000.00 during PGYI
$5,000.00 during PGYII
$5,000.00 during PGYIII

The stipend will be paid in twenty-six (26) bi-weekly payment installments during each program year so long as the resident maintains a residence within the designated radius during the applicable pay period.

Rural Travel Stipend

Residents of the Rural Residency will receive an annual stipend to cover transportation costs with respect to their travel to and from Florence, South Carolina, and/or around Cheraw, South Carolina, or Manning, South Carolina, as applicable.

The Rural Travel Stipend for each program year shall equal:

$5,200.00 during PGYI
$1,300.00 during PGYII
$1,300.00 during PGYIII

The stipend will be paid in twenty-six (26) bi-weekly payment installments during each program year.

Paid Leave Gives You Plenty of Time for Yourself or Your Family

Residents have twenty-eight (28) paid days of leave each year away from the program. This leave includes seven (7) holidays and twenty-one (21) personal days including vacation and sick time.

Vacation days not taken during the academic year will be paid to the resident upon completion of each program year.

Residents Receive a Very Competitive Benefits Package

McLeod will pay for continuance of current health insurance for the month of June until health insurance coverage becomes effective.

MEDICAL PLAN

Employees have the option of selecting from two affordable health plans. The Network Plan offers low co-pays and coverage for preventive care through the services of physicians in the McLeod network. The Standard Plan offers a more traditional 80/20 coverage.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

Short Term and Long Term disability is an income protection plan with McLeod covering the full cost of 50 percent of annual base salary.

Retirement Plan

The 401(k) retirement savings plan features flexibility and control of investment decisions, tax-deferred savings, company match, portability of retirement funds, compounding of investment returns, loans, and hardship withdrawals.
