This PGY1 Residency Program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
More than one-third of the pharmacists employed have completed postgraduate residency training. Use of a decentralized pharmacy model facilitates close collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals, emphasizing the concept of pharmaceutical care.
