For a Critically Sick Child, Time and Access to Appropriate Specialists and Technology Can Mean the Difference Between Life and Death

As the primary care center for children in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand Regions, McLeod Children's Hospital operates the ChildReach ambulance, a mobile pediatric and neonatal intensive care unit that transports children and newborns from community hospitals to the lifesaving physicians and staff at McLeod Children's Hospital.

Transport nurses and respiratory therapists on board the ambulance respond immediately to ensure high quality care of the child during transport. Additionally, state-of-the-art technology is essential to meeting the special needs of these patients.
