Change Cupids to Raise Funds for the McLeod Children's Hospital

on .

(1/04/10) - The Change Cupid program is an exciting way for community members to get involved in the 8th Annual McLeod Children's Hospital Radiothon.
Beginning January 11, Change Cupids collect change from their co-workers, friends, and family. Change Cupids can be individuals or a group of members representing an organization. One-hundred percent of every dollar raised through the Change Cupid program will help to support specialized care, equipment, and programs needed in the treatment of critically ill and injured children at McLeod Children's Hospital. The funds Change Cupids raise collectively will be the first donation presented during the McLeod Children's Hospital Radiothon.

On Feburary 10, Change Cupids are invited to attend a special celebration at Skateland USA in Florence to turn in change. The public is also invited to participate in roller skating during the Change Cupid Celebration. This event will launch the 2010 McLeod Children's Hospital Radiothon. Change may also be turned in at the McLeod Foundation office.

Groups or individuals interested in becoming Change Cupids can register by visiting the McLeod Foundation's website at and clicking on the Change Cupid link. Those interested may also contact Davis Sawyer of the McLeod Health Foundation at (843) 777-2694.

Quantum Communications Stations WEGX 92.9 and WJMX 103.3 will broadcast the Radiothon live from the McLeod Children's Hospital Child Life Activity Center on Thursday, February 11, and Friday, February 12, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

During these broadcasts, listeners will hear the stories of local families whose children have benefited from the care at McLeod Children's Hospital. Listeners are invited to make a pledge, call in, or visit the hospital to share their stories.

Donations to the McLeod Children's Hospital can be made during the live Radiothon broadcast by calling (843) 665-4100 or toll free 1-866-668-4862, or by visiting the McLeod Health Foundation website at and clicking on the Radiothon link.

The Radiothon fundraiser helps to ensure that the McLeod Children's Hospital can provide the very best care for children and families across the Pee Dee region.
