Each year, McLeod Regional Medical Center is part of the family during the experience of more than 2,000 births. New changes at McLeod are improving postpartum care with the addition of Family-Centered Care. McLeod recognizes that each family is unique, so we strive to provide the best care for each mother and baby.
As part of Family-Centered Care, some of the services that were previously performed in the nursery have now moved to patient rooms. After delivery, your baby will stay in the room with you unless it is medically necessary or you have a special request for the nursery. Rooming-in with your new baby after delivery allows families the opportunity to care for the newborn with the support of nursing staff.
McLeod is equipped with the Infant Security System, the finest in infant exit protection, which uses an advanced transponder security system to alarm staff of an unauthorized removal of a baby.
