Rev. Tomas C. Pietila, M.Div.
Director of Pastoral Services
Tom is an ordained elder in the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist
Church. Born in Ohio, he received his B.A. from Hiram College, Hiram, Ohio, in 1974 and his
M.Div. from The Divinity School, Duke University, in 1977. He has served in a variety of ministry
settings and churches in South Carolina since 1977. He has been the Director of Pastoral
Services at McLeod since 2010. He and his wife, Lindy, have two adult daughters and three
grandsons. They worship at Central United Methodist Church, Florence, where Tom is the
Pastor Emeritus.

Rev. Stuart Harrell, M.Div., BCC
Assistant Director of Pastoral Services
Originally from Laurinburg, NC, Stuart is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. He
is an ACPE, Inc. Supervisory Candidate, completing his education at Carolinas Medical Center in
Charlotte, NC. Stuart holds a Masters of Divinity from Duke University Divinity School, and
completed a CPE residency specializing in End-of-Life care at Duke University Hospital. He is a
Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains, and enjoys hiking,
being outside, the beach, and exploring the intersection of faith, shame, and vulnerability.
