The value of spiritual care as it affects physical healing has long been recognized as part of the culture at McLeod Health with a dedicated Pastoral Services Department. This commitment of resources is unique and not often found in medical centers.
Generous gifts to the McLeod Foundation may now be directed to the new Pastoral Services Fund.
Programs currently funded include:
- Providing for a weekend chaplain to ensure pastoral services are available to respond to codes and emergencies in a timely manner.
- An accredited Clinical Pastoral Education program(CPE) for local clergy and lay people which will elevate the quality of pastoral care offered our patients and families. This program is accredited by "The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc."
- Care Notes to help address coping skills for a variety of issues that patients and families face.
- The Care Channel in patient rooms that provides a combination of calming music and beautiful imagery, to promote peace, comfort, and support to patients and families.
