Baby Care Postpartum Class

This class provides parents-to-be with guidance and practice taking care of both mother and baby the first six weeks after birth. Both parents are encouraged to attend. Topics covered include:

  • Feeding, both breastfeeding and formula, and burping
  • Bathing and skin care
  • Circumcision and umbilical cord care
  • Changing diapers and handling newborns; newborn safety
  • Infant cues and crying
  • Physical and emotional care of the new mom

Monday evenings, 6:00 pm. - 8:00 p.m.

Registration

This class is free of charge for those who plan to deliver at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Fees apply to those who plan to deliver elsewhere. Registration is required. Please call McLeod Reservations & Scheduling at (843) 777-2005 or toll-free at 1-800-667-2005 to register.
