When Cardiac Rehabilitation Is The Next Step In Patient Recovery, It's Good To Know That Expert, Individualized Care Is Also Close To Home

At McLeod Dillon, cardiac rehabilitation is a prescribed exercise, education and diet program that helps an individual with heart disease return to a more normal and productive lifestyle.

The McLeod Dillon Cardiac Rehabilitation program is a three phase program.

PHASE II - Cardiac Rehabilitation Department
Phase II begins after a patient is discharged from the hospital. Patients come to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department three days a week for supervised exercise and education sessions. EKG heart monitors, blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen levels in the blood are monitored.

Patient's Eligible for Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation:

  • Myocardial Infarction
  • Stent Insertions
  • Angioplasty
  • Heart Valve Replacements
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
  • Stable Angina

PHASE III
Phase III begins after the patient has been in phase II for 8 to 12 weeks. Blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen levels in the blood are monitored weekly or more often as necessary.

PHASE IV
Phase IV is for patients that are at risk for heart disease. A patient in Phase IV may or may not have been in any other phase of Cardiac Rehabilitation. Blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen levels in the blood are only monitored as needed.

Patient's Eligible for Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation:
Any Risk Factor for Heart Disease
