Summer Insect Safety Measures

The return of summer brings warm weather and outdoor activities. Warmer temperatures also mean the return of mosquitoes, and ticks. Mosquitoes can transmit illnesses such as West Nile virus and Malaria; ticks can transmit Lyme disease and other serious infections.

McLEOD SEACOAST OFFERS CERTIFIED SAFE SITTER COURSE

McLeod Safe Kids will be offering a Safe Sitter certified babysitting class this summer for girls and boys ages 11 to 13, at McLeod Seacoast, on June 26, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Safe Sitter class is a medically-based program, taught by certified instructions, that teaches young adults hands-on training in basic lifesaving procedures, helpful tips including safety precautions, how to relate to children of different ages and the business of babysitting, the release states....

Thanks to the support and generosity of our local community, the McLeod Health Foundation, supporting McLeod Loris Seacoast, has granted more than $93,000 to various departments at McLeod Loris Seacoast.

McLeod Loris Seacoast welcomes Jason Harrah, MD to McLeod Family Medicine Seacoast in Little River. Dr. Harrah has been practicing with expertise and compassion for more than 15 years, and will continue to serve patients from all areas of the coastal region.

MCLEOD HEALTH FOUNDATION CLAYS TOURNAMENT RAISES OVER $21,000 FOR CHILDREN’S SERVICES

The 2015 McLeod Health Foundation Sporting Clays Classic, presented by Sportsman’s Choice Marine, raised more than $21,000 for the Children’s Services at McLeod Loris Seacoast. The tournament was held on Saturday, May 16, at Low Country Preserve in Tabor City, NC.
