McLeod Sports Medicine Awards Geoffrey Kier Memorial Athletic Excellence Scholarships

(4/08/10) - McLeod Sports Medicine has awarded the Geoffrey Kier Memorial Athletic Excellence Scholarships to five local athletes. The athletes receiving the scholarships are: General Decar Brown, II, Kylie Cribb, William Seth Perry, Steven Blake Vinson, and Jessica Wilkes.
General Decar Brown, II is a senior at Wilson High School where he is a member of the golf and football teams. He plans to attend South Carolina State University in the fall and major in Business Management. General Decar is the son of Mr. and Mrs. General Decar Brown of Florence.

Kylie Cribb is a senior at South Florence High School where she is a member of the softball and cross country teams. She plans to attend Clemson University in the fall and major in Health Science. Kylie is the daughter of Jed and Patti Cribb of Florence.

William Seth Perry is a senior at Trinity Collegiate School where he is a member of the cross country and track teams. He plans to attend either: Wofford College, Winthrop University or Gardner-Webb University and major in Environmental Sciences. William is the son of Donna Perry of Florence.

Steven Blake Vinson is a senior at South Florence High School where he is a member of the football and baseball teams. Steven plans to attend the University of South Carolina in the fall and major in Physical Therapy. He is the son of Ralph and Lisa Vinson of Florence.

Jessica Wilkes is a senior at Lamar High School where she is a member of the softball team. She plans to attend Limestone College in the fall and major in Psychology. Jessica is the daughter of George and Bonnie Wilkes of Lamar.

Sponsored by McLeod Sports Medicine, the Geoffrey Kier Memorial Athletic Excellence Scholarship recognizes student athletes who personify excellence. The athletes chosen exhibit excellence in academics, athletics, and also possess strong leadership skills. The scholarship is awarded annually to college-bound high school seniors. The athletes are selected from participating area public and private high schools.
