McLeod Safe Kids will host a day of fun family activities focused on keeping kids safe. The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the McLeodMedicalPlaza Parking Lot (800 East Cheves Street, Florence, SC29502).

The McLeod Safe Kids Day, presented in partnership with The Elks Lodge of Florence, will include:

Camp Jessie's Kids Scheduled for Saturday, April 18

Camp Jessie's Kids, a day camp for children who have suffered the loss of someone they care deeply about (for example, a special family member, relative or friend) or for those who have someone in their family who is very sick at this time, will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The camp is open to children ages four through 16. Parents or guardians are asked to accompany children who are four to six years old.

McLeod Earns ACR Lung Cancer Screening Center Designation

McLeod Regional Medical Center has been designated a Lung Cancer Screening Center by the American College of Radiology (ACR). McLeod is the only hospital in this part of South Carolina to achieve this designation.

The annual McLeod Sports Medicine Challenge Run/Walk will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015. The race day begins at 9:00 a.m. with the 5K and 10K Run/Walk, the one-mile Fun Run begins at 9:05 a.m. All races take place at Briggs Elementary School, located at 1012 Congaree Drive, Florence. McLeod Hospice Offers Training for Volunteers

McLeod Hospice is offering a new "Hospice Volunteering 101" class for persons interested in helping Hospice patients and/or assisting the Hospice support staff. Volunteerism can include playing music or singing to a patient, providing companionship or making deliveries of medical supplies to a patient's home.

Volunteers play a vital role in McLeod Hospice. They may visit patients either in their homes or at the McLeod Hospice House. They can also provide massage therapy or pet therapy...
