The Annual McLeod Darlington Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 3:30 p.m. on the hospital campus. This event is open to children in the community up to ten years of age. McLeod Announces Clinical Pastoral Education Program

The McLeod Pastoral Services Department is pleased to announce the addition of a training program in pastoral care called Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). CPE is a supervised clinical learning program focusing on the art of Pastoral/Spiritual Care of persons. Designed with a flexible schedule to accommodate working professionals of all faith groups, students can expect to learn while offering spiritual care to patients at McLeod and apply those pastoral care skills in their own contexts.

Camp Jessie's Kids Scheduled for Saturday, April 6

Camp Jessie's Kids, a day camp for children who have suffered the loss of someone they care deeply about (for example, a special family member, relative or friend) or for those who have someone in their family who is very sick at this time, will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The camp is open to children ages four through 14. Parents or guardians are asked to accompany children who are four to six years old.

McLeod Offers Monthly Diabetes Foot Clinic

The McLeod Diabetes Center and the McLeod Outpatient Wound Center are now offering a monthly diabetes foot clinic on the second Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the McLeod Medical Plaza, 800 E. Cheves Street, Florence. To prevent diabetes complications it is important for patients to have regular foot screenings and examinations.

McLeod Offers Prevention Study to Patients Treated for Colon Cancer

In conjunction with Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the McLeod Cancer Research Department announces its participation in a national prevention study for patients who have recently been treated for colon cancer.

This National Cancer Institute (NCI) sponsored study evaluates the cholesterol drug, Rosuvastatin (Crestor) as a treatment to reduce the risk of colon cancer. Rosuvastatin is a statin, a class of drugs that lower cholesterol.
