(3/11/13) - When one travels to the beach we often forget the dangers of prolonged sun exposure. McLeod Loris Seacoast will be offering free skin cancer screenings at the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center. Dr. Jose Hernandez, of McLeod Family Medicine Seacoast, will conduct screenings by scanning the skin to look for any signs of cancer or dermal damage.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime. Dr. Hernandez will be conducting free screenings on March 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dr. Hernandez will also provide skin cancer education to the participants and a one on one analysis of their screening results.
