(5/11/12) - Safe Kids Pee Dee/Coastal reminds families to take caution during Bike and Wheeled Sports Safety Month (May) as well as year-round. Studies show in children ages five to fourteen, 52% do not have a helmet present, 41% use a helmet, and 7% have a helmet present but it is unused. Properly fit helmets should be owned and worn by a child during wheeled sports to assist in preventing injury.

(4/27/12) - Safe SleepSafe Kids Pee Dee/Coastal, led by McLeod Health, is pleased to now offer a Safe Sleep education course.

This course will provide families with education designed to help decrease the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and accidental death of infants while sleeping.

(4/13/12) - Safe Kids Pee Dee/Coastal, led by McLeod Health, will host two upcoming Kohl's Child Safety Seat Checks in Florence and Myrtle Beach.

The Third Thursday with Kohl's Child Safety Seat Check will take place Thursday, April19, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Florence Kohl's parking lot (3041 W. Radio Drive, Florence). This child safety seat check is held the third Thursday of each month at this same time and location.
