A hospitalist is a doctor whose single focus is the medical care of patients in the hospital. Hospitalists do not maintain a private practice. They are based in the hospital. Therefore, their time is devoted solely to caring for patients in the hospital.
If you are under the care of a McLeod Hospitalist, your doctor trusts the McLeod Hospitalist team to care for their patients while they are in the hospital. This team works very closely with your doctor as a part of your medical care team. If you do not have a doctor, they can help you with choosing one to fit your needs. In some cases, your doctor may also not practice nearby so this team cares for you and reports back to your doctor.
Each member of the McLeod Hospitalist staff is trained and skilled to care for your medical needs while you are in the hospital from the point you are admitted to your discharge from the hospital. As a result of their educational training and the medical needs they treat, the McLeod Hospitalists have a broad range of skills. Click here for more information about the McLeod Hospitalist team.
