Peak Performance Sports Specific Training Program
The Peak Performance program is an intense strength and conditioning program designed to improve overall athletic ability. The program is individually based, but done in a group setting to encourage competition and teamwork. The staff incorporates pre-testing results into an individualized sport specific training program which uses a variety of training methods to enhance the speed, strength, power, coordination, and flexibility of each athlete.
The program is for athletes ages 14 and older interested in improving their athletic capabilities. Peak Performance meets for 8 weeks during the summer months, Monday through Thursday in two separate three-hour sessions. The sessions run from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the McLeod Health and Fitness Center.
The program consists of:
Pre and post performance testing
Proper lifting training/progression
Flexibility
Speed/running technique drills
Sport specific agility
Plyometric (Jump) training
Proprioceptive (Balance) training
Core strength training
Nutrition counseling
Mental preparation
