Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are allied health professionals who are experts in injury prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation particularly in the orthopedic and musculoskeletal disciplines. ATCs are also involved in health care administration, nutrition, biomechanics, education, counseling, physiology, psychology, and conditioning to enhance athletic performance.
The presence of a Certified Athletic Trainer ensures a safe environment for athletic participation. The ATC works to prevent athletic injuries and cares for the athlete if they occur.
