The McLeod Sports Medicine Challenge 5K and 10K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012. The event is designed for both competitive and recreational athletes.

5K Wheelchair
10K Wheelchair

5K and 10K races begin: 9:00 a.m.
Pet Walk and Fun Walk/Run begin: 9:40 a.m.
Race Location: Briggs Elementary School
1012 Congaree Drive, Florence
Race day registration: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.    
Pre-registration is available until March 9, 2012.

The Run/Walk course is USA Track and Field Certified. Technical direction is managed by Carolina Running Company, Inc. For online registration click here www.carolinarunningcompany.com.

Prizes awarded to the top three overall Male and Female winners.
Overall winners: first place $100, second place $50, third place $25.
$100 cash bonus awarded for setting a new course record.
Medals awarded for each age division. 

5K and 10K Race proceeds benefit the Geoffrey Kier Memorial Athletic Excellence Award Scholarship Fund. The scholarship recognizes student athletes who personify excellence. The athletes chosen exhibit excellence in academics, athletics, and also possess strong leadership skills. The scholarship is awarded annually to college-bound high school seniors and is in the amount of up to $1,000. The athletes are selected from public and private high schools that are contracted with McLeod Sports Medicine.
