McLeod Physical Therapy provides a wide range of both outpatient and inpatient services. The department is staffed with highly trained and educated Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants. Outpatient and inpatient physical therapy services are initiated by a physician's referral. Great care is taken to keep the physician informed of the patient's progress through documentation and direct communication.

Available Services:

Outpatient Physical Therapy services emphasize individual treatment programs to encourage exercise and safety, facilitating each patient's return to function. After thorough evaluation, a treatment program is devised. McLeod outpatient physical therapy services accommodate patients across the lifespan with or without medical complications and with a variety of diagnoses.

Inpatient Physical Therapy provides mobility and exercise to hospitalized patients to restore independence, speed their recovery and reduce post-operative complications. Adaptive equipment and coordinated care is established with rehabilitation centers, home health agencies, or outpatient therapy programs.

Pediatric Physical Therapy assists children and adolescents to achieve developmentally appropriate mobility through spasticity management, seating and positioning services, and gait training by therapeutic intervention. (click here for more information)

Programs:

Aquatic Physical Therapy uses the physical properties of water to assist healing and exercise performance for a variety of different conditions.  A physical therapy evaluation is first performed in order to determine if aquatic therapy is appropriate for the individual. A tailored program is developed and communication with the referring physician is maintained.  Aquatic Therapy is performed by licensed, specially trained therapists and held at the McLeod Health & Fitness Center in the warm or cold water therapy pools.

Back in Motion is an exciting new program designed to assist patients with back pain in returning to their normal motions. A physician referral is required for a physical therapy evaluation, and appropriate enrollment in the program is determined by the evaluating therapists. A licensed therapist provides a series of 8 interactive sessions that utilize both individual and group therapeutic techniques. Upon completion of the program the patient is able to self manage their back pain with appropriate exercises for continued prevention and future management.
