McLeod Radiology Services, like Mcleod Regional Medical Center, is rich in history.
The department of X-ray was first organized in the 1920's by Dr. Frank Hilton McLeod.
McLeod has since been at the forefront of imaging technology, providing a number of
medical "firsts" for the community . McLeod radiology was the first facility to develop
sections of Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT Scanning, and Special Procedures.
McLeod was the region's first to offer patients access to a 64-slice multi-scanner. In
addition, McLeod houses the only GE High-Speed Tesla .7 Open-MRI unit in the region.
For breast health needs, McLeod has the region's only Breast MRI 7-channel biopsy coil,
and was the first in Florence County to install digital mammography in the spring of
2007. McLeod is proud to offer the first and only fixed-based PET scanner in the Pee
Dee.
McLeod Radiology performs a vast array of procedures including Breast Imaging, CT,
Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, and
Ultrasound.
