A Florence native, Dr. Gaskin has a passion for water sports. The sport of sailing and boating occupy much of his free time. While on the water, he enjoys scuba diving as well as swimming.

"I enjoy the patient interaction and the surgical aspect this career offers," says Dr. Gaskin. "The cutting edge technology used in the field of ophthalmology stimulates my interest." Dr. Gaskin chose his profession because of its "ability to make a large impact on patients' lives by restoring their vision."

Dr. Gaskin began a career with the McLeod Ambulatory Surgery Center in 1987. His studies have provided him with special training in retina and vitreous. "This specialty training benefits my patients because I understand that without medical or surgical intervention many patients would go blind."

"Providing the best medical and surgical care to each patient" has been a long standing goal of Dr. Gaskin. He finds this goal attainable through the McLeod Ambulatory Surgery Center because "the dedication of the staff is tremendous."
