Financial Information
McLeod Hospice admits patients to the hospice program based on need and regardless of their ability or inability to pay. Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies cover hospice services.
The VA has a hospice benefit available for their patients. Services prescribed by a VA physician require authorization from the Community Health Nurse Coordinator, who will contact Hospice with the appropriate information.
Charitable donations allow us to provide hospice services to patients without a payment source.
Coverage of hospice services varies among insurance companies and policies range from 0% to 100% coverage. We will contact your insurance carrier and notify you in writing within 15 working days regarding what services your policy covers and what percentage they will reimburse us after you have met your deductibles.
On admission, you and your caregiver will be informed of any charges for services and method of payment. We will bill your insurance company and in most cases they will pay hospice directly. You will be advised should any change be made regarding your services or charges.
