"I thank God for McLeod Hospice. When I had no more words to say, Hospice was there to say them for me." Sherry Hales, whose husband died of lung disease, was served by Hospice for seven months.
McLeod Hospice is a special way of caring for terminally ill people and their families. We are there to provide services that help relieve physical symptoms such as pain, as well as provide emotional and spiritual support for the patient and their family.
We serve residents in Florence, Marion, Dillon, Darlington and Lee Counties in South Carolina. McLeod Hospice allows a patient to die at home, in familiar surrounding with dignity and privacy. We realize this is not always possible and therefore we also provide care for patients who are hospitalized or living in nursing facilities.
The story of Hospice isn't about dying. It is about helping patients live with their terminal illness while maintaining the highest possible quality of life.
The staff and volunteers of McLeod Hospice seek to provide a compassionate approach, providing medical care, supporting patients and families, and maintaining dignity while enhancing the quality of life.
We provide coverage 7 days a week with admission. Referrals can be made by family members, friends, or others involved in health care agencies. Patients are admitted based on recommendation of their physician and on need, regardless of their ability to pay. Hospice develops an individualized plan of care for each patient.
