Connie Lane of Hartsville has learned the best kept secret in Darlington. Because she believes in sharing her positive experiences with others, she is on a one-woman mission to convince others that this is one secret that shouldn’t be kept.
“It needs to be shared so all women can experience the wonderful care I’ve received at McLeod Medical Center-Darlington,” said Connie.
The secret Connie wants to convey to others involves the Mammography Department at the McLeod-Darlington campus. Branch Manager of the SPC Cooperative Credit Unit in Darlington, Connie learned about the McLeod facility when she participated in Leadership Darlington a couple of years ago.
“A tour of McLeod Medical Center-Darlington was included in the day set aside for health-related programs. Lynette Griffin spoke on the mammography capabilities of McLeod-Darlington and when she said it was easy to get in and out of the facility for an annual mammogram in less than 30 minutes it prompted me to immediately make an appointment after the tour,” explained Connie.
In the area of mammography, McLeod-Darlington has two certified Mammogram Technologists, Lynette Griffin, RT (R)(M) and Keisha Andrews, RT (R)(M).
“They are so nice and pleasant when you arrive for your appointment,” said Connie. “They put you at ease and make the entire process less uncomfortable. The décor is also nice and home-like, which adds another level of personal touch to the experience.
“In addition, my OB/Gyn physician in Hartsville has my results when I come in for my annual appointment,” said Connie.
Lynette and Keisha say they try to make the diagnostic procedure less uncomfortable by talking to their patients and getting to know them. Since they each live in Darlington County, they also know many of the women they see each year personally.
“They really baby me here a lot,” added Connie. “I’m a patient at McLeod Family Medicine Center-Darlington too, so everyone on this campus makes me feel like I’m part of the family. They really listen to me and care about my concerns as well as those of my husband and daughter. That level of personal touch means a great deal to me.”
Connie adds that she likes to share positive experiences with others so when people tell her they’ve had a negative experience at another facility she tells them to come to McLeod-Darlington.
