Shadowing is a short-term clinical observational experience that lasts from 2-10 hours. This experience introduces a student to at least one healthcare department at McLeod Health. Opportunities are usually offered in some nursing areas, radiology, nutrition services, diabetes center, children's hospital, echocardiography, electrocardiography, etc.
The purpose of the Shadow Program is to:
Provide for individualized career exploration.
Encourage the development of career-related responsibilities, such as cooperation, courtesy, promptness, dependability, and respect for others.
Criteria to participate:
You must be in the 11th or 12th grade.
You must present proof of current health screening, i.e. MMR, TB, Hepatitis, etc.
Your acceptance into the program is made by your school.
You must have your parent's/guardian's consent.
